Things To Look Out For When Getting An In Office Laser Assisted Hair Removal Treatment

You may be a male or a female but chances are you will not like the idea of having unsightly facial hair. Normally recognized as hypertrichosis or hirsutism is the onset of excessively growing hair. Normal or not, any kind of extreme hair growth can be referred to as hypertrichosis. It is possible to have this issue if you have other health conditions apart from getting the problem due to genes. Heredity can be the reason behind it or underlying medical conditions can be reasons too but hirsutism is when females contract the kind of hair growth pattern that is persistent in the male population.

You can always wax or shave and there are other ways by which you can remove unwanted hair as well but most of these only provide temporary results. You need not suffer from painful procedures when removing unsightly hair and this can be done if you consider using lasers and light sources. Lasers are always used in tandem with gizmos that help with the cooling and this is to prevent pigmentation and other issues. To read other laser hair removal articles make sure to visit laser hair removal Sydney.

Since the melanin in the hair follicles need to be zapped, this is done with light from IPL devices and lasers. Multiple sessions are necessary when it comes to something like laser hair removal. When it comes to the FDA, the only lasers that they vouch for are the IPL ones as well as the ruby, alexandrite, and diode varieties. You can have dark hair and light skin and benefit from a laser assisted hair removal procedure.

If your skin is not fair, it will be better if you requested that YAG lasers be used instead. There are several establishments that offer this kind of service from malls to clinics but you should always trust a reliable health care provider in this case. Only trust the right people if you intend on having a procedure like this done. It is important for you to go in for treatment multiple times to get the results that you want.

When it comes to hair removal via lasers, this is best done on dark hair. The lighter the hair, the less responsive lasers tend to be and when it comes to this, topical medications can be used. When it comes to laser hair removal, it is adamant that potential patients use sunblock and avoid tanning for a month or so. Our article discusses laser hair removal and is further explored at permanent hair removal Sydney.

There are people who experience discomfort and swelling after getting treated. Sometimes, infections develop after the treatment is done and sometimes, temporary skin discoloration happens too. Always remember that you should not expose yourself to the sun in this case.

People are trying to find ways to develop an alternative to the usual physician performed procedures when it comes to this. Because of consistent public demand and because of the opportunities that have risen in line with laser technology, there are manufacturers that have begun developing at home laser tools.

Though treatments done at home can be safe, there are issues like skin color or conditions involving the skin that can be detrimental to the outcome. When it comes to this, at home treatments are safe but you still need the opinion of an expert in the field.

Frequently Asked Questions...

What does it mean to say that laser light is coherent?

Any wave has to be identical to itself - that is a tautology. So what am I missing when people describe laser light as coherent?

Answer:

The light is in phase, as opposed to being random like most light sources.

If you picture a sine/cosine graph, then non-coherent would be a bunch of sines/cosines all starting at different positions, coherence would be them all starting at the same position, the same wave on top of itself (hence the amplification in LASER)

Edit:

I guess nobody will read this, but the way lasers work, is they take advantage of a known meta-stable state of some atom or molecule.

So a hydrogen atom can be used to model how all other atoms and molecules behave (exactly!! quantum mechanics makes AMAZINGLY accurate predictions about the hydrogen atom alone).

Hydrogen has a single electron that occupies certain discrete energy levels. Generally speaking the electron will "want" to be in the lowest energy level. But by giving the electron a little energy, you can move it up to a higher state, but then the electron will "fall" back down to the lowest energy state (or perhaps another state, the higher the energy the more options available to reach the ground state).

Ok, so what does this have to with lasers?? Well, like I said, if you excite an electron then it will want to fall back down to the ground state, which will release photons (light). This will happen virtually instantaneously in most cases (say like from a random light source). Which means the light will be completely incoherent...the photons hit and bounce back at ALL different times meaning you get a random distribution of phases.

However, in hydrogen, quantum mechanics predicts that there are certain states which are less likely to decay, so the way a laser works, is by putting an atom (or probably molecule) into an excited state which has a known lifetime, by exciting them into this rare state all at once, the VAST majority of them will fire at approximately the same time (give take say a few pico seconds). This is how you get an amplification AND coherence.
