Why do they dumb down sports games like Madden on the Wii?
I don't think all Wii owners are incompetent idiots who cannot figure out how to play regular madden but with Wii remotes. They don't even have franchise mode, they took away Superstar mode, and they made it so arcadey and simplistic. I also noticed they do that to other ones like Fifa and NBA Live. I like the Wii and a lot of their games, but why did they have to mess up sports so badly???

I know what you mean. When you play a sports simulation on the PC versus a game console like the Wii, it is such a completely different experience.
I think the main reasons for "dumbing it down" is because the average consumer wants a game they can play with friends or alone that gives them an escape from the real world. So they don't want to remember various complicated plays, or carry seasons forward from year to year, or decide how much to pay a player and still remain under a salary cap, and so on.
Also, porting a game from a PC to a game console, they have a limited budget and must make sure that the features people use the most are in the game and meet the release deadline.
It would be nice if the features available in one version of the game were available on ALL gaming platforms. In fact, I'd go a step further and say wouldn't it be nice if someone developed a game where someone playing the Wii version could hook up with someone on the PS3 and another person on a PC to play that game?
For now, all I can suggest is that you voice your opinions or comments to the company that makes it. EA Sports has a website, and you can tell them what you think...things you like about their games...things you are upset that they left out. The only way to get them to put in things that THEY think are not important is if WE the consumer tell them it is important.
And naturally, if they don't listen to the consumer, well someone else may come along and make a better product, and we will switch to buying their game instead. Or we just refuse to buy the new one and keep using LAST year's, but tell them WHY we are not buying the new one.
