The Fastest Way To Get To The Max Level With Your Shaman
If you want to level up your WoW shaman you have probably asked yourself: Which is the best way to level up? The Enhancement build or the Elemental spec?
I want to answer that question and explain the reason behind that answer.
First of all, I urge you to use only the Enhancement talent spec to level your Shaman up to level 60. Do not use the Elemental build as long as you are unable to quest in the Outlands.
For what reason? The answer is simple: The Elemental spec turns your shaman into a caster. It focuses on spells that require a lot of mana. Therefore killing mobs and leveling up will also require lots of mana. If you want to deal even more damage your only option is to find equipment that boosts your spell damage.
That’s where the troubles start for elemental shamans. Below level 60 there’s almost no caster gear! In the Outlands you will get enough caster gear to equip your Elemental Shaman.
The best you can hope to find in the old world are green items that might boost your intelligence. To find blue items that add spell damage you either have to spend a lot of gold or waste time by visiting dungeons.
As a rule of thumb: If you are below level 60 you should choose the Enhancement spec. Above level 60 you are free to choose your favorite build.

The Shaman spell is called Ghost Wolf, and it is learned from your class trainer at level 20. Some Shaman refer to it as travel form, since it increases your movement speed by 40%, and is really nice to have before you're able to get a mount. The best part about it is that you just have to pay for it and you've instantly learned it! No annoying quest to complete to get it, unlike all of the Druid forms. You can also make it an instant-cast spell by having five points in your Enhancement Talents.
