The debate that surrounds the abortion issue is often a heated one.   Politicians from both political parties often have capitalized on this emotion to ensure campaign contributions and votes.  Conservative Southern Democrats and Republicans alike often pander to the pro-life constituency but have been either unwilling or completely ineffective in protecting the lives of the unborn.  Personally, I believe strongly in the right to life.
